THE SURFACE GAP IN SUBSURFACE OPERATIONS

MARITIME OPERATIONS  |  DEFENSE + TRAINING  |  JUNE 2026

Tactical dive teams surface into the same gap every time. Comms are down, the threat picture has reset, and the window between ascent and reestablished situational awareness is exactly when the operating environment is most hostile. This transition is a known threat that remained unsolved for too long. Parabellum Aerospace aims to equip divers with modern equipment that acknowledges modern warfare realities.

THE GAP: IDENTIFIED + UNDERSTOOD

The underwater phase carries defined procedures, known variables, and practiced contingencies. The surface phase, particularly the first minutes post-ascent, doesn’t support the same consistency.  Operators are visible, exposed, and comms-degraded at the moment threat assessment is most critical. Standard UAS solutions don’t survive water exposure. A system requiring unpacking, power-up, and GCS connection after surfacing isn’t a maritime solution. It’s a dry-land system in the wrong environment. The gap revolves around the durability and accuracy of equipment.

THE BUILD: THE MARITIME SOLUTION’S DEVELOPMENT

Parabellum Aerospace’s Maritime Solution came from an identified gap in a real mission environment. Engineered to survive the subsurface-to-air transition and be airborne within seconds of surfacing. That single operational requirement drove every design decision. The system addresses the transition problem directly:

  • Shark Marine Technologies waterproof tablet control interface rated + trusted for modern dive operations.
  • Auto-connect and auto-boot on ascent; airborne within seconds of surfacing.
  • Full comms restoration on surface contact.
  • Mission-specific training and sustainment included from day one.

THE DESIGN: CONSTRAINTS THAT MATTER

Every second of post-ascent exposure is a variable. Parabellum Aerospace’s  Maritime Solution supports auto-boost technology because the transition window isn’t forgiving. The line between a purpose-built maritime system and a waterproofed standard platform is obvious within the constraints of underwater missions.

THE INTEGRATION: SUSTAINMENT-FOCUSED PLAN

Maritime teams receive mission-specific training built around their operational environment. Configurable training units accommodate mission-specific requirements. Training and solution easily integrate with existing SOF maritime program structures.
